Gosainkunda Lake

Gosainkunda Lake, a sacred lake for both the adherents of Hindu and Buddhist faiths, is also known for wonderful scenery. Ringed by high mountains on the northern and eastern sides, the lake offers a fascinating sight. In addition to its status as a place of religious importance, the Lake also offers stiff challenge to the trekkers.
Dhunche-Gosainkunda Lake Trek is among popular and medium range treks in Nepal. Lovely scenic views and glimpses of Sherpa life increase the delight of the trek manifold. One has to undertake steep ascent of 4380m while on trek trail to Gosainkunda. It is advisable to first acclimatize in Lauribinayak, Tharepati or Chandabari.
